The biophysics experimental activity in the department of Physics at Technion currently comprises of three groups:

The group of Prof. Uri Sivan ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is mainly working on molecular recognition and ionic transport; The group of Dr. Kinneret Keren ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is mainly working on cell motility
The group of Prof. Erez Braun ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is mainly working on population dynamics and cell adaptation.
Anyone interested in finding more information on these activities or on job opportunities in this area, please contact one of these faculty members or the Dean's secretary, Mrs. Nehama Katmor This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Optics

The research of my group is in the general area of nonlinear optics and quantum electronics. Our current projects have to do with solitons, nonlinear frequency conversion, nonlinear guided waves, nonlinear dynamics, and photorefractive materials. Our research is both theoretical and experimental, and all our students are required to learn both aspects.

Chemical abundance measurements in the coronae of the stellar binary HR 1099 revealing an interesting dependence on the First Ionization Potential (FIP). The enrichment of high-FIP elements is the opposite to what has been observed the solar corona, where low-FIP elements are overabundant.
