NAZARETH, CAPERNAUM, TIBERIAS
Depart Jerusalem for a full day tour to the Galilee region, travelling
through the Jordan Valley to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation.
Proceed to Tiberias with its ancient hot springs and modern seaside promenade
on the Sea of Galilee. Continue with a visit to the ruins of a second-century
synagogue and the Church of St. Peter at Capernaum.

MASSADA AND DEAD SEA
Depart Jerusalem to visit the ancient city of Jericho, to explore the
excavations of this 10,000 years old city. Proceed south along the shore
of the Dead Sea which at
397 meters below sea level is the lowest point on earth, to the famous
fortress of Massada. Ascend by cable car to explore the unique archaeological
sites, including Herod?s magnificent palace.

Friday, August 7, 1998
Depart Jerusalem after sessions and travel via the ancient Biblical
city of Jericho, the oldest and lowest inhabited city in the world. Continue
along the Jordan Valley to
Beth Shean, the most monumental Roman/Byzantine city in the area. Proceed
to Tiberias and Capernaum and visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue and
the house of St. Peter. Continue to Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered
the Sermon on the Mount.

Saturday, August 8, 1998
Depart Tiberias to Nazareth and visit the Church of the Annunciation.
Continue to the beautiful port city of Haifa and the Druze villages. Visit
Caesarea to view the archaeological excavations of the Crusader port and
Roman amphitheater. Continue to Tel Aviv.

Visit Petra, a Nabatean fortress city that was founded some 2,000 years
ago. To reach the city, the visitor travels either by foot or on horseback.

Depart for Jerash, the most complete city of the Decapolis, a confederation
of ten Roman cities dating before the 1st Century B.C. Proceed to Madaba
with its Greek Orthodox Church where you may view the original map
of the Holyland. Continue to Mt. Nebo with its spectacular view across
the Jordan Valley.
Return to Tel Aviv at approx. 18:00
