The IPS2004 programme will start at 9:35 as advertised. Please arrive
by 9:00 to complete registration and enjoy the coffee and cookies.
If you have not already registered for IPS2004, we recommend that you
download and fill in the membership and registration
forms before arrival, to speed up the registration process.
If you have already registered, your badge and conference package will be
waiting for you at the registration desk.
Car, bus and train directions to the Technion are here.
You may also download a car entry permit and a
campus map, or a blowup of the area near physics.
Maps of the IPS2004 layout will be in your conference package.
If you have not visited us since June, please know that it is best
to enter the physics building from the front entrance to reach the new
Lidow complex foyer. This can be entered from the
road that turns off the main ring road between Materials Science and
Biomedical Engineering, or, if you have entered Technion
on foot, via the Ullmann building. The back entrance near Chemistry that
was used during the building process is now closed.
Unfortunately for visitors many parking areas in the Technion are gated.
We hope that we can leave some gates open on 9/12/04.
If you come by car early, you may find parking on the road near the
department or on the ring road (right fork at the main west gate).
If you arrive later your best bet for parking is in the area at the
side of the Physics Department near Ullmann.
This area is reached by taking the left fork at the main west gate onto
Yaacov Dori road and the left at the first circle to go past the swimming
pool and then right at the next circle then follow the road past Civil
Engineering and Mathematics. Park, then enter into the the Taub Humanities
Building where the Institute for Theoretical Physics is situated. You can
take the elevator to its 4th floor, then cross the bridge to the 3rd floor
of Physics and follow the signs to the Lidow Foyer.
If you enter Technion through the Nesher gate, we also suggest that you use
the parking area near Ullmann. Turn right at the first circle, left at the
second and follow this road past Civil Engineering and Mathematics and
proceed as in the above paragraph.
Speakers should be in touch with their session organiser or chair in
advance if they need anything other than an overhead transparency machine.
Otherwise please contact them on arrival.
