This directory includes the UV spectra of the 56 PG AGN analyzed for
intrinsic absorption by Laor & Brandt 2002.

There are two tar files in this directory.

allfig.tar - 56 files which use the SM plotting package to generate plots
             of the C IV, Ly alpha, and N V line profiles for each object.
             In a few cases other lines are drawn. The name convention is
             fig.pgxxxx where xxxx are the first 4 digits in the object PG
             name. There are three additional files: fig.weak1, fig.int1,
             fig.low1, which generate figures 1,2,3 in Laor & Brandt 2002.
             The important quantity in these files is the wavelength shifts
             applied to the spectra, which are based on ISM absorption lines
             (see paper). The last three files have the final values for
             each object (may slightly differ from the values in 56 objects
             files).

alldata.tar.gz - 105 data files with UV spectra in the format lambda, f_lambda.
                 These are mostly HST FOS spectra. We coadded data if more than
                 one exposure per grating was found in the archives, excluding
                 cases where the different exposures show significant variability,
                 or very different S/N. No Galactic exctinction corrections or
                 wavelength shifts were applied to the data. Wavelength corrections
                 based on ISM absorption lines appear in the SM plotting commands.
