The Nonlinear Schroedinger Equation (NLSE) is relevant for the explorations of Bose-Einstein Condensates and for Nonlinear Classical Optics. A natural question is whether Anderson Localization survives the effect of nonlinearities, namely: is Anderson Localization found for the NLSE in presence of a random potential? It turns out to be a controversial question, there are conflicting heuristic arguments and the answer is not known even numerically.
In this workshop mathematicians and physicists will join efforts to make progress on this problem.
