Magnetic perturbation and manipulation at the sub-micron scale provide a great deal of information about a host of condensed
matter systems such as interacting electrons and superconducting vortices. In this lab we perform low temperature physics
experiments, focusing on novel manifestations of quantum mechanics in solids and in electronic devices. Specific research
interests include topological insulators (bulk insulators with metallic, topologically ordered surface states), superconductivity,
electronic devices that combine superconductors with semiconductors, and the physics of vortices in superconductors. We use
scanned probe methods, electron transport, and combinations of these techniques.
